MY BACKGROUND

Hello, my name is Kelly and I’m passionate about helping people.  I’m only able to do this because of my life experiences and how I overcame the challenges that I was faced with.

MY JOURNEY -I’ve not had an easy ride in life and I’ve had my own difficulties to bare. Overcoming the trials I faced has certainly made me a stronger person and enabled me to become the therapist that I am today.

I left school at the age of 12 because I was suffering with anorexia nervosa and bulimia. Trying to recover from this situation was difficult and progression was slow. To make things even more challenging, my family and I were shocked when at the age of 15 I had accidentally become pregnant.  Having to think about my baby and not just myself was life changing and it gave me the strength I needed to fight my battle, to overcome my illness and in turn save myself.

After my daughter was born I was forced to re-evaluate my life.  Leaving school at such a young age and without qualifications was disastrous.  I decided to go to college to better myself and be a responsible parent. I was a severe dyslexic and could not read or write when I left school so college was going to be another challenge I needed to overcome.

Over the next seven years I worked really hard and I learnt to read and write. This ignited my passion to help others and I started working in a mental health care home.  l went on to gain an NVQ level 2 and 3 in social care.

Fast forward and having been a carer for many years and still really enjoying looking after and helping to support others, in 2010 I decided I would like to go back to college and study holistic therapy.  Having been the recipient of this type of treatment throughout my training and post training I became a stronger person. This one decision has enabled me to help so many other people overcome their problems and get their lives back on track.  Mental and physical health go hand in hand and by looking after both our minds and bodies I believe that everyone can improve their lives and I am so grateful that I am able to help and support them on their journey.
